ART SAFARI - One evening we came back to Zomba Forest Lodge after sketching at the market in Zomba township. To our suprise, two villages and a local band had been invited to play music for us and demonstrate traditional dancing and drumming. After three hours of dancing, my back was so soar that I couldn't move anymore...so I sat down by the light of a karosine lamp and started sketching away. This is a charcoal sketch...I couldn't see a thing while I was doing it...but just wanted to capture the moment...everyone dancing, singing, playing homemade instruments...it was wonderful!
