We spent our second weekend in Malawi at Cape Mcleare where Chris, 'the fish guy', is doing his Fulbright research. It's a nice small fishing village with a few backpacking hostels, but for the most part the village isn't that used to having turists around. We were adopted by multiple groups of kids who would run up and hold our hands as we walked through town. They were great! The kids taught us how to say bird in Chichewa and sing a song about flying up to the sky. Without them, I wouldn't have found my Chitenge (the Malawian wrap-around skirt) or the soccer game that Jon and I jumped in on.
